Join us for a day in Stockton, only one hour from Sacramento.

Our first destination is the Wat Dhammararam Cambodian Buddhist Temple at 3732 Carpenter Rd in Stockton.  This is an amazing outdoor temple that features over 90 colorful and larger than life statues that celebrate the life of Buddha and stories about him, including a 50-foot long reclining Buddha.  (Free; donations welcome).

Then we’ll stop for lunch at a Mexican Restaurant and then go to the Haggin Museum in Victory Park, 1201 N Pershing Avenue, Stockton.  The Haggin Museum’s art collection features works of art from the late 19th and 20th century masters, a historical collection featuring the Central Valley, and temporary exhibits on “ Textures of Remembrance:  Vietnamese Atists and Writers Reflect on the Vietnamese Diaspora,” “Jerome Biederman Automobile Illustrations,” and “The Case of the Disappearing Gauguin.”  (Adults $8, seniors $7).

We will choose a location to meet for carpooling when we know who signs up.  Contact Helen Flach, kwflach@aol.com
